Dave's Birthday
Dave's 20 now. I sent him a candle, chocolate covered Oreos, DORITOS™ NACHO CHEESIER Crackers and a couple of DVDs, one of which is Top Gun. None of which will arrive in time. I called him today to wish him a Happy Birthday and warn him he'll have to wait until Monday for his presents. He was playing pool with friends on base when I called. He said he'll do something to celebrate his birthday in the evening.
I didn't shop until the last minute. What can I say? I didn't know his address was working until earlier this week when he called. Well, actually it's not just that he disappeared. I'm busy now with a project at work, a writing workshop and a yoga workshop this weekend. Plus my income tax return. The first one w/o Dave as a dependent. Dave's lucky I remembered at all.
